Gimnazjum Nr 1 in Koluszki was created by the Resolution Nr VII/16/99 of Town Council in Koluszki on 30th April, 1999. The school shares its building with the Primary School Nr 1 in Koluszki. Gimnazjum Nr 1 is one of nine such kinds of schools in the area of Łódź Wschód District. Now there are 446 students (15 classes) taught by 28 teachers. There are also a few kinds of Clubs and Societies. The students who learn on one shift (to 3.30p.m.) can use the gymnasium, the computer studies room, SZOK room, the Local Centre of European Information and the school library – where there is the Internet.
European education is one of the priority tasks of our Gimnazjum. The youth has a possibility to participate in international educational projects and to get to know the culture of other countries.
30th April 2004 was a very important date in the history of our school. On that day the Town Council named the school after Jan Kochanowski. The solemn act of naming and handing in the banner took place on 24th June 2004.
Gimnazjum Nr 1 in Koluszki was honoured with the Certification Mark Interkl@sa certificate, European Certificate of Innovation ”European Language Label” and Domestic Quality eTwinning Award.
Among the students of our school there are laureates and finalists of provincial subject competitions and all-Polish school competitions.
